Today I’m excited to tell you a little about my Etsy shop, Colors on Canvas. I’ve been making and selling paintings since 2012 and I absolutely love it. What all started as a way to pass time while on Christmas break has become so much more. Growing up I always enjoyed drawing, coloring and creating things. When I was younger I even kept journals where I described every little detail of my life. That way, when I died, people would have plenty of material to work with when they wrote my biography. I had big dreams, y’all! But who knows… Maybe someday those diaries will be needed. 😉
How Colors on Canvas Started
It all started in early 2012. It was Christmas break and I was bored. I decided to paint something I had seen and fallen in love with on Pinterest. When I finished, I was so proud of my work. My family loved it, and my dad even told me I could actually start a painting business. At the time I didn’t believe him, but I was hooked on painting. Over the next few months I started to accumulate inventory by painting in my tiny dorm. Finally, after putting a lot of thought into it, I opened up my Etsy shop.
Since then, I have been featured a couple of times on the The Funky Monkey (which you can read here and here), and have painted hundreds of paintings. I know Hobby Lobby like the back of my hand, can tell you how much certain paints and canvases cost without having to look, and am an expert at packaging paintings up with deconstructed cardboard boxes. It’s a lost art form.
I can’t believe I’ve had my shop for 4 years! Time has definitely flown by, and I’ve learned so much.
Colors on Canvas Paintings
I specialize in calligraphy, and writing quotes and bible verses on hand-painted backgrounds. Almost everything I make is made-to-order, which means they are made especially for you. I am more than open to changing colors, fonts, and everything else! I also love custom orders, because my favorite thing to do is take your idea and make it reality.
Coming Up for Colors on Canvas
I’ve been working on this for a while now, and I am so so excited to share the good news…
Colors on Canvas is going digital!
I love watercolors, and after putting a lot of thought into it, I decided to try something new. I am now selling printable versions of my watercolor paintings! They are downloaded straight to your computer, and you can keep them as digital or print them off yourself at home or somewhere like Staples or FedEx. Cool, right?
Therefore, to kick off this new adventure for Colors on Canvas, I’ve thrown together a giveaway just for you! You can enter to win three of my brand new watercolor printables, as well as a $20 gift certificate towards any painting at Colors on Canvas.
I hope to see you enter!
